Wednesday, January 7th: The cold weather has really jump started our "Winter inquiry". Since we haven't been able to go outside we decided to create "snow" inside. In our sensory bin Mrs. Byrne made a mixture of shaving cream and baking soda to create snow! We had a lot of fun playing with the winter animals and placing them in the snow! The shaving cream snow did not stay "fluffy" for long so we decided to make a water adventure. Since a lot of arctic animals live in the water we created an ocean with icebergs! With all of the interest in animals and icebergs some of our friends used play dough to create their own! This is what happens when we leave things on the counter ~ a random artist comes along and creates something!! We have been learning about the letter "M" and its sound! We are also working on printing our upper and lower case "Ms". Here are some pretty cute mice - I hope we don't find any real ones!! Some of our friends were experimenting with rocks and mirrors! They made some neat things! Finally, one of our friends brought in a great book to share. It was the story of a pony named "Cassidy"! The best part was Cassidy actually talked to us and answered questions about the book! Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful evening! :)
