Monday, March 27th: We had a very busy day today! Our morning passed in a blur - we had gym, then had snack together as a group and then went to the library! My friends always enjoy our visits to the library. Today, Miss Alexa read us the book "Old Bear". We had fun playing on the Lego wall and reading our books! Here are some great photos! After library, we returned to the classroom and had our "Star of the Week" meeting! Each week we choose a different friend as the "Star of the Week" and then we ask them all kinds of fun questions! This afternoon we had fun exploring different activities! My friends were having fun doing subtraction with Mrs. H. We used manipulatives (gems) and the rekenrek to solve the problems. We are getting so good at adding we decided to try some "taking away" or subtraction! Awesome mathematicians! My friends were having fun creating a unique number line! They had to put it together like a puzzle! It used different representations for each number, some were words, some were digits, some were ten-frames, some were tally marks! Great problem solving skills and a good way to practice subitizing! Other friends were having fun creating structures with the knex and some were having fun exploring our Easter sensory bin! On a lighter note! One of my friends was having a great time in dramatic play! When I asked her what she was she said "a ghost"! No classroom is complete without one! :) Have a wonderful evening! :)
