Wednesday, November 19th: We had an awesome Wednesday! This morning we read the book "Measuring Penny". We are interested in measurement ever since baby Arya visited us last week. Last week we measured baby Arya on her first visit and discovered that she was 4 blocks long. We decided to measure ourselves today and compare our measurements to Arya's. After we were finished measuring we graphed our results! We even measured Mrs. Dilabio our vice-principal! We used some great math language during our activity - longer than, shorter than, medium, middle. We worked in partners and here are some great photos of the activity! Our graph was not the only recording of our measuring. Some friends were using "links" to measure different objects around the room and then writing about it in their journals! Great Work!! We are still being great scientists and exploring our 5 senses. We categorized different objects and made a tree map. We also added to our bulletin board. Next week, we are going to be conducting some experiments! I know we will be tasting and smelling different things and then writing about it in English and French. We got a new centre today. Mrs. H. bought us a carpet with roads and buildings on it and some more cars. We had fun playing with the cars and the garages on the new carpet. We are learning how to be respectful of the toys and materials in our classroom! Just a reminder that Friday, November 21st is a PD day so there is no school for students. Have a great evening! :)
