Monday, March 23rd: Welcome Back! It seems that the children really enjoyed the break. This morning we read the book "Icky Bug Shapes". The children had fun identifying different shapes in the bugs! No shape inquiry would be complete without building some structures. Our friends were very busy building and creating structures using different 2D and 3D shapes. Building with shapes was not confined to the block area. This friend was using the tangrams this morning to make different pictures using the shapes and this afternoon he created his own master piece! These friends were in the mood for a different kind of math! They were using the whiteboard to practice writing their numbers. They were taking turns and made it to 61 before we had to go outside!! The children are still very interested in community helpers. Today, we opened our "puppet theatre". They have been having a great time putting on shows for their friends. This afternoon we read the story "There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed A Puck". With the spring, many of our friends are interested in the hockey playoffs! They are all very excited about the big game tonight! Go Sens Go!! Finally, many of our friends were feeling artistic at the art table! They used shapes and some great spring colours to create their masterpieces! Have a wonderful evening. :)
