Monday, November 10th: To further our inquiry into germs and healthy bodies we opened the "Kinder Doctor's Office" today. Our doctors were very busy seeing patients and giving flu shots. Our friendly receptionist kept smiling even though she was very busy!! Our friends weren't just playing in the doctor's office - they were doing some great writing too! Our friends were doing some great math too! They were sorting healthy versus unhealthy snacks! Others were creating and extending their own patterns!! Many of our friends have been doing puzzles. We got some new small puzzles and a new Pete the Cat floor puzzle!! Puzzles are so great to develop problem solving skills!! Have a wonderful evening! We are having a Remembrance Day Ceremony tomorrow at 10:50 am. Some of our friends that participate in beavers and sparks will be in the procession and two other friends will be carrying our class wreath! :)

Monday, November 3rd: Happy Monday everyone! As the weather is turning colder, please make sure that your child has a warm jacket, mittens and a hat. We are outside for an extended period of time at lunch and it gets cold on the playground. The children had a very busy day today. We have started a new inquiry on germs (les microbes) and healthy bodies. Before reading our book today, we brainstormed our ideas about germs. We read the book "Germs Make Me Sick". We got some exciting news last week! At the News Show last Thursday, our class won "The Green Thumb Award". We have it displayed in our classroom ~ even Pete the Cat was excited! The children were excited to usher in a new month today. We are doing a new pattern with our calendar an AABB pattern. We are using Canadian flags and poppies as our symbols. Mrs. H also created a new attendance check in on the Smartboard! We click our poppies and reveal the image underneath. We know that Remembrance Day is November 11th and we are creating a wreath for the school ceremony. Here we are working on our wreath for the Remembrance Day ceremony. We are each making a poppy and gluing it on our wreath. We are using our fine motor skills to trace the poppy and then cut it out and glue it on the wreath. Some of our friends were really into building today. We created some neat structures using the marble run. We love watching the marbles follow the track! These friends are playing with cars and doing puzzles! Great problem solving skills! The cars fit together like a puzzle! Have a wonderful evening. Mrs. Byrne and I are looking forward to seeing all of you at parent/teacher interviews on Thursday. Please remember that our time together is short, only 10 minutes. If you have any questions or concerns we will do our best to address them during the interview.
